Carolina Adventure World

Carolina Adventure World is a private park dedicated to the drivers of ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes. The 2,600-acre facility is located half an hour north of Columbia, South Carolina, in Winnsboro. The park is the largest of its kind in the southeast and attracts cyclists of all skill levels.

The outdoor adventure park, which opened in 2007, has an extensive high-quality trail system. There are over 100 miles of trails for bikers of various skill levels. The trails are marked by the difficulty from green to black diamond. Trails meander through the forest, over hills and valleys. There are some stream crossings. Some trails are wide enough for two vehicles and other trails are quite narrow. There are ten miles of dedicated Enduro trails, single track dirt bike trails.

Carolina Adventure World has a lighted and programmed drag strip that measures 300 feet. There is also an oval track with three inclined turns. Motocross riders will enjoy the vintage and junior motocross tracks that cover challenging terrain. Extreme runners may want to try one of the park's mud swamps. Those who prefer rocky terrain can enjoy the challenging Rock Crawl, Grizzly Hill or Mammoth Hill areas.

The park allows ATVs, two-person SUVs, and dirt bikes. Jeeps and three wheels are not allowed. All cyclists are required to wear helmets. There is an on-site storage facility for ATVs. Carolina Adventure World rents vehicles and equipment. The races are held on-site throughout the year. An endurance race is scheduled for Memorial weekend.

Visitors who want to spend the night can rent rustic cabins or stay in the camp. Water and electricity connections are available at the campsites. Campers, RVs and yurts can also be rented. Pets are welcome at camp, but are not allowed in buildings. The park's Welcome Center sells tickets, camping supplies, T-shirts, tires, and equipment parts. Equipment rental is also done in the Welcome Center. Food is available in the Welcome Center on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. at 3 p.m. They offer burgers, hot dogs, barbecue and snacks. The Bath House is located next to the Welcome Center. It has toilets and showers. Showers are available for campers as well as daytime guests who wish to clean up before leaving the park.

Carolina Adventure World is open daily, weather permitting. Hours Monday through Thursday are 8 a.m. at 6 p.m. Summer weekend hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are from 8 am to 10 pm. Fares are $ 25 for a day pass for adults and $ 15 for passengers under the age of 18. Multi-day passes are available. Non-commuter spectator passes cost $ 10. The adventure park is located at 1515 Arrowhead Road in Winnsboro, South Carolina.
